The pool area looks nicely designed, but the water itself was green and completely cloudy, with grime along the edge. They asked guests not to use sun cream because their filtering system couldn’t handle it, yet the pump seemed to be off most of the time. Everyone in our group who went into the pool got sick. The rooms felt overpriced for what you get. They’re small, most don’t have a proper window, and there’s hardly any natural light. It looked clean, but there was no housekeeping during our stay, however long you were there. The place needs a lot of repairs, too. The insect screen was broken, so bugs got into our room, and we even found some in our luggage when we got home. Not a souvenir we wanted.

We tried the breakfast one morning, around €7, and found it disappointing. When I asked the bar for a frappe another day, the worker said he couldn’t help until breakfast was over, even though he was just scrolling on his phone. The staff generally weren’t very friendly, either. We asked the manager to change our sheets and towels, but it wasn’t done until we followed up. We were three families hoping for a few days by the sea, and left disappointed. At €82 a night, Casa Stavros felt far too expensive for what it offers. The rooms are tiny, the bathrooms even tinier, and while the furniture looks nice, it isn’t very useful. We had a log where a bedside table should’ve been. The AC and mini fridge were the best parts of our room. Around noon there was no hot or even warm water for a shower, which is a big problem for accommodation. The place was pretty clean, the pool was nice, and the cats were even nicer. But getting to the beach took about 10 minutes on foot. We definitely won’t be coming back to Casa Stavros.

The shaded backyard under the fig trees, with sand and a pool, was a huge plus and made the stay feel like a proper vacation. We had an amazing time! It’s pet friendly, too, and there were two cute cats.

The beach and Vama are a little far, though there’s a taxi stand nearby. Our room was fine, with AC, a fridge, and a small TV. The bed was okay but not especially comfortable, and the bathroom was on the small side. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the pool was great. There’s also a bar with almost any drinks you might need. All in all, a really nice stay.

Casa Stavros is a nice, peaceful place, and its pool and inner garden are the best parts. The bartender struggled with even a simple Aperol cocktail and with opening a wine bottle, so you may want to bring your own drinks.
