Carolina Heritage

The rooms are spacious, the staff kind, and the hotel sits right in the heart of the city on the same street as the biggest church. We traveled with our 8 months baby and would have liked blackout curtains, but that wasn’t enough to take off a star. Everything else was great. Parking is free, though there’s room for only 6 cars inside. Street parking is also available and not expensive.

The setting made it easy to explore Alba Carolina Citadel on foot and see Alba Iulia’s historic site. Our stay was also very relaxing, with helpful, professional staff. The room was spacious and very clean, breakfast was very good, and parking was included in the room price. I’d strongly recommend this hotel for a visit to Alba Iulia.

We made use of the hotel’s enclosed parking for our rental car, and the breakfast was a real highlight. There was a wide choice of familiar Romanian dishes. The hostess was warm and accommodating, with useful suggestions for restaurants and sightseeing, and the service was great. Our room was very well kept. The bathroom felt a little tight to move around in, though it wasn’t a serious issue. As an American, I appreciated having an enclosed shower. It’s a lovely boutique place right in the citadel’s city center.

Parking is included in the stay, and there’s an elevator in the hotel. I found the location especially convenient for the old town of Alba Julia. The room was clean, and breakfast was very good, with excellent coffee. I recommend staying here.
