We had a wonderful time in the Carpathians, thanks in no small part to the hotel's very friendly, helpful staff and welcoming feel. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, with plenty of choice, and the prices felt more than fair for the quality. The hotel is putting work into its future, too. Many rooms are being renovated with modern designs and stylish interiors, which adds to the comfortable atmosphere. I can highly recommend it to anyone visiting the region.

The restaurant food was delicious, and breakfast was great too. Our waiter forgot half of our order, but they fixed it. The room had a really nice modern design, although it looked like the fresh prep had been rushed. Recommend!

You can feel you're right in the heart of nature at Hotel Piscul Negru. It's a quiet forest escape on the Transfăgărășan Road, with cozy rooms and pure mountain air. We even saw a bear. Such a unique, unforgettable stay for adventurers!

The food was very good, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The location is great, and we did see a bear nearby. A local pack of dogs chased it away. I'd stay again. The room had some drawbacks, though. The beds were old and uncomfortable, space was tight, and poor insulation between rooms made the interior quite loud. Construction is still going on, so that adds noise. There weren't enough electrical outlets, and I had to choose between charging my phone, using the TV, coffee maker, or fridge. Room prices are on the high side, but I suppose the prime location helps justify them.

After a long drive down the Transfăgărășan, I stopped at Piscu Negru for a refreshment. The cappuccino was watered down and the service was disappointing. I wouldn't stop here again. Drive another 20 minutes and try Treehouse restaurant instead, it's much nicer and the service is better.
