The pool was nice, the beds were okay, and the AC worked. The location is nice too. Beyond that, the hotel was very dated and fell well short of what I expect from a hotel. In our supposedly more luxurious room, the fridge looked over 20 years old and was disgusting. The curtains covered only about half the windows. The shower couldn’t be attached to the wall for use, so we had to hold it, and its broken head sprayed water both vertically and horizontally. Since the curtain covered only about two thirds of the shower opening, the bathroom flooded. After the first shower we used the pool shower instead. There was also a party with loud music under our window. We like parties, but need sleep too. I repeatedly asked after midnight for the music to be turned down, but nobody did anything, and it continued past 2 a.m. I was very frustrated and wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

The room was spacious, and the people were smiley, but there were plenty of problems. The walls are thin enough that you can hear your neighbors talking or peeing. English is barely spoken, so bring a translation app. There were cobwebs on the ceiling, a hole in the sheets, and stains on the floors in the room, lobby, and restaurant. On day two there was no toilet paper, and on day three the water was cold. Bring your own shampoo and soap, since they give you very little. The river is closer than the pool, but I couldn’t decide between them and ended up watching TV in the room. It felt quite expensive, and I think they need to lower the prices or refresh everything.

The setting is beautiful, and the pool and terrace were peaceful places to relax. Service was good, and the staff were helpful.
