Helen Hotel

The room was very large and clean, with a comfortable bed, and the price was good at €70 a night including breakfast and spa. Breakfast had a good variety, and Madalina was especially kind and welcoming. Reception staff were friendly, helpful, and professional. The hotel is outside Bacău, about a 15-20 minute drive, in a quiet spot near nature. The room wasn't well soundproofed. Through the windows and main door we could hear the road, the hallway, and other guests talking and walking outside. The shower also flooded the bathroom easily because of a poor drain. The main problem was the SPA. We arrived at 18:30, during opening hours, but the sauna and steam room were switched off. The staff member responsible wasn't helpful and left them closed. That felt very unprofessional and isn't acceptable for a 4-star hotel.

The hotel itself is good, but the staff were rude and didn't seem suited to hospitality. For the location, it felt overpriced, with a bad bed and worn furniture. Breakfast felt like they just tossed some food at you 🥶😅. Not worth it.

The restaurant was fabulous, and breakfast was very good. The SPA area was clean, and the staff were professional. A nice hotel.

The grounds are beautifully planted and well maintained, and the hotel sits in a stunning location. The pool and spa are thoughtfully designed, and the restaurant terrace is lovely. There aren't many vegetarian options, though, and I would have liked cocktails and mocktails on the drinks menu. Our room was nice but felt a little tired and could use renovation. The air conditioning didn't work during our stay. Even with those issues, I'd highly recommend the hotel.
