I ended up leaving and finding somewhere else nearby. There are plenty of better places in the old town, with better prices and service, so I wouldn't spend money here. When I arrived, reception was empty except for a phone number. The man who answered told me I shouldn't be at reception and to go to the restaurant. I asked whether I could pay by card because I didn't want to use up the local currency I had left. He said the card machine wasn't working. I offered to book online through the popular hotel site where they were listed, but he said there were no rooms unless I paid him cash. I refused to stay.

The way we were treated really put me off, and I wouldn't recommend this guesthouse to anyone. It doesn't feel like a 3-star place to me. The room bulbs didn't work. When I mentioned it, the owner asked, “What, do you want to read?” Wind whistled under the doors like in a horror movie, and there were no mosquito nets. She moved us to another room twice, then around 11-12 the next day blasted the music. She said she was testing the sound system for expected guests. The volume was extremely loud, and she left the dining room, so it seemed to bother her too. We had a family with two small children there, and I wondered if they would have liked that. The people's attitude disgusted me.

I was there in March, and the room was freezing. They turned the heat on when I asked, but it barely made a difference, and around 4am it was switched off again. It was so cold that I couldn't shower. A terrible stay, I was freezing like a dog.
