A really lovely place, well equipped and peaceful. Highly recommend.

We had a nice weekend at this beautiful spot by a lake where you can fish. The house was okay, though the price felt high. It was cold in the evening and morning, and we were left shivering because the host wouldn’t turn on the heat, saying the walls were expensive. A bad attitude!

We left with a very bad feeling after our stay and Booking.com's handling of the whole situation. We had chosen this place away from Baia Mares because the listing promised a peaceful natural setting and the services we needed. It advertised an entire cabin for two, laundry service, a shared kitchen and leisure areas, lake views from the room, and private parking on site. None of those promises turned out to be true. When we arrived, the hostess greeted us, but she didn’t speak English, so we had to rely on gestures and phone translation. We were told there was an issue with the Booking.com listing because it had been written badly. What we’d booked was actually a room in a house with several other rooms, not a cabin for two. Laundry wasn’t available, and because we were the only guests, they said we couldn’t use the shared spaces or kitchen since they weren’t set up for so few people. That was a disaster for our plans. We’d brought all our laundry at that point in the trip, there were no laundromats nearby, and food was in the car trunk that we couldn’t use over those two days without a kitchen. Then there was the payment. We thought the accommodation would collect it from Booking.com in advance, but they only accepted bank transfers. I can’t believe that’s still the only payment option. Booking.com later told us the payment was pending, which was incredibly embarrassing because the accommodation thought we might leave without paying. We had to make a bank transfer, and I wouldn’t wish that embarrassment on anyone. Somehow we went from being the ones wronged to being made out as the villains. We couldn’t believe it. After many years of travelling and using Booking.com for our stays, we’ve never had anything this surreal happen. Shame on the accommodation, and Booking.com's management was terrible. They offered no real help mediating things, just passed messages back and forth. It’s made us question using Booking.com for reservations, since they didn’t step in effectively when we needed help.

Right by the lake and surrounded by forest, it has a dreamlike view and feels like a romantic getaway. The place is fully equipped, making for a dream vacation!
