Hotel Padis

The garden is lovely, a great place to sit on a bench in the evening, and the cleaning lady was very considerate and kind. The hotel's pool is a little farther away, rather than right in the yard. The mattresses are fine, and the tourist restaurant upstairs feels luxurious and calm, with okay food. The other dining room looks old, and the food there is a different story. The rooms are small, stuffy, and look like a set from a communist film. The chair and desk corners are peeling, so you could hurt yourself. Breakfast, lunch, and supper cost around 150 RON/day, which feels overpriced. Breakfast was two small salami slices on bread and strawberry jam with butter, not enough for an adult, maybe for a child or teenager. The soups and broths at lunch were basically water, with vegetables seemingly just thrown in, though the second course was generally fine. For supper, if you don't like meat, you won't eat. I don't recommend the place, it's far too expensive.

The restaurant staff were very friendly, though the menu was a bit limited during the quarantine period. Hotel guests get free entry to Padis thermal pool. It's okay if you're not fussy and just need a room to sleep in overnight.

In October the central heating was on too high for me, though the seniors seemed to like it. There are no insect screens on the windows or balcony doors, so bugs come into the room at night.

The night pool has such a great vibe. I had my birthday there last year, and I'm going again this year. I just love heading to the pool at night.
