The restaurant menu is limited, and the whole place feels like a shadow of Herculane’s old reputation. The hotel itself is in poor shape, with worn bath tubs, dirty floors, and badly done repairs. Some floors look like they were only superficially restored.
The building is really old and has that Communist-era makeover. My room stayed cold in the evenings and was never cleaned. The staff were surly and rude. If you can, stay somewhere else.
We had a conference there, and the training room was so cold that we were all clutching our jackets. The bedrooms were the opposite, too hot to sleep comfortably. When I tried to leave my room, the door knob broke because closing the door had been such a struggle.
The TV was old and didn't work, and there was no internet. The hotel is very old, and the rooms were dirty, especially the bathrooms.
An old Communist-era place, with small, totally horrible rooms. At least I didn't have to stay there.
