Hotel Domogled

We came on holiday hoping for hot water and the rest. The rooms were clean, but the bed and terrace were a mess. The bed felt fit for a cat, not a grown person, and you could fall off if you tried to have a romantic night with your wife. The terrace was dirty, and half the wall was broken.

When I was there in 2020, things were okay, though I don't know if the pandemic had anything to do with it. At mealtimes we ate at a nearby hotel, whose name I can't remember. There was a smell that made me feel sick, and the food wasn't great either. You had to arrive on time or the woman there would scold you. The rooms could be better, especially for a hotel with three stars, but that's just my opinion. They also had a little bar with sweets.

The balcony had a lovely view, and I really enjoyed the warm indoor pool. A hot shower nearby after a swim was a nice extra, and swimming at night helped me relax and unwind. The receptionist was very kind and always greeted us with a smile, and the cleaning crew kept the rooms clean. My stay also had some problems. The room wasn't heated properly, so I had to pile on three sheets to keep warm at night. I started out in a good room, but the key got stuck and I had to move. In the replacement, the bed had two separate mattresses instead of the king-sized one I'd booked, which was disappointing.

The food was good, though very simple. The rooms are basic but clean, apart from the toilet, which needed some work, and spiders up high that needed clearing out. It felt like a hotel for retired people. Even though it was cold, the room heater stayed cold while the bathroom one was hot. The bar, pool, and everything else close at 19.00!
