Casa Nicoli

A lovely spot for families.

The setting is quiet, up the slope but still near the resort center. Nicoli Guesthouse sits beside Alis Guesthouse, and there are supermarkets Anabella and Diana close by. A BCR ATM is near Anabella, while the road toward the springs has plenty of stalls and shops selling artisan goods. You can get water cards to access the springs. SPA and massage are available for a fee at places a 2-3 minute walk away. There are two ways in, from Bradului Street or Aleea Trandafirilor. Bradului Street is one-way, so reaching that entrance means driving around. There are a few parking spots on that access road, with more on the other one. The accommodation includes six standard studios, three on each of two floors, with a kitchen, private bathroom, and double bed. The three luxury studios also have a large living room, a glass table for six, and a shared terrace.

I've stayed at this guesthouse three times before, and this visit makes four. It's in a pretty good location and has parking, plus there’s free coffee and tea. The owner is a nice girl, and two dogs keep watch over the place. The rooms are fairly clean, and the prices are manageable, though not for a small budget. There’s no air conditioning. In one part of the room, a few flies wanted to get out, but I couldn’t open the blocked window to let them out. I’d suggest paying closer attention to room cleaning and installing AC. I recommend it.

We found it peaceful and relaxing for a stay with our child, and the hosts were very welcoming. Costică, who looks after maintenance at the guesthouse, was especially good at responding to what visitors needed. He’s a great guy.
