Complex Balnear Dobsi

I only stopped for coffee, since this was the one place I could find it. Everything else was closed. The setting is beautiful, but there’s no real service. It felt like tourists were a bother, which was really sad. They do have a nice old phone outside.

The younger Nepalese employees were cheerful and helpful, thank you guys. But the owner and one of the older waiters spoiled our weekend. The location is kind of nice and the food was okay, though the beer prices were through the roof. We won’t come back or recommend this place.

We never got to stay. After I booked and said we’d be bringing our dog, they called to ask his size. He’s an educated, 11-year-old Giant Schnauzer who’s used to hotels, but apparently he didn’t meet their criteria because they only accept small dogs. That doesn’t seem consistent with advertising the hotel as pet friendly, and to me it shows poor understanding of dog behavior. Bigger dogs can be calmer and better disciplined than little ones, whose small size is often compensated for by their attitude. It would have been acceptable to tell me there was an extra charge for all guests with pets, whatever their size. The policy felt biased toward potential guests.

The place was dirty, and the host and staff were very bad. They verbally abused us and acted hostile. They were racist toward us, calling us “bad Hungarians.” They also didn’t give us a bill, which is illegal. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
