Pensiunea Bia Papadia

Waking up to the Ceahlau Massif each morning was wonderful. We stayed for two nights and had an amazing time in this cozy, intimate mountain retreat. The owners welcomed us when we arrived, checked us in, and cooked dinner for us. Our room was stylishly decorated and very clean. A little gem and a great choice in the area.

The terrace looks out toward Ceahlau Mountain, with green surroundings all around. We really enjoyed the view, and the hosts were welcoming and ready to help with anything. The rooms are spacious and very clean, and the food is delicious. There are plenty of forest paths in the Ceahlau area. I’d recommend it for families, school camps, groups of friends, or solo travelers looking for fun and relaxation.

After I posted this, the owner insulted me. You know what you're getting into. The place is quiet and the bed was comfortable, but the room needed a better clean: there was hair on the towels and a blood stain, and there was no heating. The woman on site tried to communicate, but nobody there spoke English, Spanish, or French. The food service was the worst part of our stay. Many dishes were unavailable, and what we did get was poor quality and expensive for the amount and quality. We were hurried out of the dining room. There was no payment terminal, and the staff had no change. It felt like the establishment wanted to make money without spending any.

We came over for dinner after checking in with the owners at the lodge next door, where we were staying without a kitchen. The restaurant has a cozy, homey feel, and the owners were nice. The food was great too: the trout, mămăliga, and mujdei were all equally tasty. We’re not from the region, but we may come back for a meal or a stay. Thanks!
