The meal was at Taverna Antica on the ground floor of Oppidium, and both the food and service were really good. The owners were warm and welcoming, too. We stayed at Casa Eva Wagner, run by the same host, rather than Oppidium, but I imagine its rooms are just as lovely. One thing: Google says Taverna Antică is closed, but it’s open.

We only came for lunch and didn’t stay at the pension. The dessert was the best we had, and the freshly baked bread was lovely. The traditional meal was delicious, and you can see the garden vegetables that went into the dishes.

The place itself was cozy, but there was hardly anything useful there. The grill looked awful and we couldn’t get it going, and there wasn’t even a tray for making anything in the oven. We also had trouble with the heating. On top of that, dealing with the host was unpleasant. In a place so full of history, this person shouldn’t be doing tourism. I don’t recommend staying here.

We had a lovely room in a separate building, with a huge comfortable bed and a strong shower. Dinner in the cellar restaurant was great, too. The house is amazing, and it’s right in the middle of a Transylvanian medieval town.
