Pensiunea Morariu

The rooms are spacious, some with as many as four beds, and the bathrooms were clean with a nice shower and warm water. We still got a good night's sleep, but the floors, doors, and beds squeaked in at least some rooms. The lack of AC was a deal breaker for me. It was 26°C in late July, and even with every window open, the big room kept getting hotter. It could be a decent place to stay if they installed AC. Winter visitors might be fine.

It's quiet up on the hill, about 500 yards from the city, with a large parking lot and good prices. The place was clean, the food was good, and the staff were quite nice. Watch for the access road, it's easy to miss if you're not paying attention.

We were in room 5 for one night when a strange noise woke us in the middle of the night. After turning on the lights, we saw a mouse run across the room. Reception was closed, so we called the owners, got our money back, and left the guest house right away. There were also stained sheets, hair on the pillows, a terrible bathroom smell, pipe problems, a dirty floor, old furniture, and no renovation. I definitely wouldn't recommend staying here.

The staff were unfriendly from the start. Our room and bathroom were small, and the shower cubicle was especially cramped. The room didn't feel as clean as it should have, either. There were only two outlets, one above the TV and another in the closet.
