Hotel Ambient

Our room had a cockroach infestation. I caught two of the three and took them to the front desk manager, who agreed they were cockroaches and said she'd hire an expert to deal with them. Beyond that, there was no accountability. I brought her two samples in bottles, including one shown in the attached photo. The offer to move us at 1:00 am on our last night wasn't acceptable. Air Canada contacted you as we discussed, and your response was evasive and deceptive, which is why I'm writing this review. You say you appreciate honest feedback, but your response wasn't honest. You should put screens on the windows so vermin can't get into guest rooms.

The breakfast was amazing, though the gym for fitness lovers is tiny and barely functional. It's about a 20-minute walk to the historic center, and there's a huge supermarket right next door. The rooms were clean in this small, unassuming hotel. I'd rate it closer to 3.5 than 4.

The room was huge and very clean, and there's free parking. The center is about a 15-minute walk away. Still, this doesn't feel like a 4-star hotel to me. They don't provide shampoo or body lotion, and breakfast was relatively poor. I'd put it at 3-plus stars.

The reception staff were very friendly, thank you. Breakfast was quite varied and good, though we didn't like the bread. The elevator was pretty loud from our room, but overall it was okay. Our large, clean business double room had a desk, TV, fridge, a bathroom with a jacuzzi tub, and a very small balcony. One night cost as much as an apartment at a 4-star hotel in Salzburg.
