HB Brilliant

A good hotel with very friendly staff. The woman at the front desk was especially helpful, and I appreciated it.

I booked two nights, but left after the first because I couldn’t sleep. My room faced the main road, and with no air conditioning, leaving the window open meant terrible traffic noise. There was also a lot of sound from the corridor, so the claimed sound isolation didn’t help. The rooms were fairly clean unless you opened some dusty drawers, and the shower drain was blocked. Reception is only open for limited hours, and there’s no breakfast option. I don’t understand the three-star rating, and wouldn’t recommend it.

The rooms were quite okay, but the service was among the worst hospitality I’ve encountered. Staff showed little interest in helping and made the stay unpleasant. We planned to arrive shortly after 10 PM, but were told they wouldn’t help us because reception would be closed. We tried asking for another solution and got no help at all. We requested a vegetarian breakfast and received the regular breakfast with the meat left out, nothing extra. The coffee came in a paper cup and had leaked by the time we got it. There’s only one spare outlet for charging, so with several devices you have to unplug the fridge or TV. The biggest issue was how indifferent the staff were. I’d never recommend HB Brilliant!

Getting a good night’s sleep was difficult because the doors let you hear almost everything in the hallway. The management also felt lackluster, and the hotel seemed to lack features you’d expect even at a two-star place. The fire alarm wasn’t working, so be careful.
