We loved the view of the mountains from the charming attic room. There are plenty of stairs, but the character made the climb worthwhile if you’re able to manage them. The host was very accommodating and set aside a free parking spot for our car. There’s also a full gym and a yoga room.

This is about the owner and a different property she rents by the month. Even after checking the house and signing a legal agreement that said everything was in order, she wouldn’t return our deposit and repeatedly failed to give us receipts. I’m not sure what to make of that. She also wouldn’t accept responsibility for her part of the agreement, and lied about someone living in the upstairs apartment. The heating was only fixed after we mistakenly thought we’d reached an amicable agreement to leave. And there was more.

The house is beautiful inside, and its old town location is ideal without being right on the noisy streets packed with bars and restaurants. It was really quiet indoors, and we enjoyed making breakfast in the functional kitchen and eating on the lovely upstairs terrace. The place needs a proper clean, though. The bathrooms hadn’t been cleaned well, the floors needed vacuuming and washing, and the microwave smelled bad. Also, Booking.com’s photos are out of date. The striking bedroom with brick walls is no longer part of this property.

The rooms all have lovely views and their own character, with wonderful family antiques. I also liked the shared family area, with its big dining table, several places to sit, chess table, and doors leading out to the patio. The kitchenette had breakfast items and coffee and tea, which was a treat. The owner was friendly, welcoming, and informative. I loved this place.
