This is a good spot for getting away from the busy world and getting some work done, though my phones barely had any signal. It has a lovely, relaxing atmosphere, with a spa in the next cabin and plenty of things for kids. The owners are young parents themselves. I was actually looking for somewhere quieter, but that was just my preference. The remote setting means you can’t walk anywhere, so you need a car or a cab. Few businesses deliver there either, and we ended up shopping or eating in Poiana Brasov or Rasnov. The WiFi kept connecting and dropping out, and I was concerned that all the electrical outlets were damaged. There are two black cats that look almost alike: one is friendly and lives indoors, while the shy one stays outside and sleeps on the front porch.

The owners were helpful, and we had no trouble with the heating or hot water. The rooms stayed quiet, with brick walls instead of the plasterboard used in many guesthouses. It’s in a peaceful mountain glade, though the price felt a little high compared with places of a similar standard we’ve stayed at in Romania. There’s no kitchen for guests, and the bedrooms have kettles.

We keep choosing Top Mountain for our vacations. The scenery is breathtaking, and the hosts are caring and really go out of their way to make guests happy. I wholeheartedly recommend this lovely place.
