The location was really good, and room #1 was nice, but the bathroom smell made the stay horrible. It was a strong sewage odor that spread through the whole room, and even reached reception. We reported it, but the hotel offered no fix and more or less blamed previous guests for flushing food down the toilet. How was that our fault? The room should have been taken out of use and repaired before being rented again. Every time I went into the room or bathroom, I gagged.

We spent one night at the hotel in Brașov twice during our Romania holiday. The online messages through booking.com were clear and pleasant. Our night train got into Brașov early in the morning, and the owner kindly let us check in ahead of time. That was great service.

The self check-in and checkout were easy, and there was complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby, plus a small terrace to sit on. Our room was very clean and well kept, with a fridge and air conditioning, which you don't always get in a two-star place. It's a cosy, practical hotel right in the old town centre. A very good choice.

The room was clean and the location was good, but I barely slept all weekend, so the price didn't feel justified. My street-facing room was beside a very busy road, something I hadn't been told about, and the poor sound insulation meant loud noise carried on until 3 AM. The fridge was noisy too. When it rained, a few drops came into the room.

Wood house feels private even though it's so central, and the mix of modern and vintage has a lovely, homely feel. Teo, our host, is such a kind, calm, warm lady. Warmth is really the word that sums up Wood house.
