Casa Laura

The towels and sheets were clean but very worn, and the furniture was missing, very old, or broken. The room had enough space, but mine was in the basement, so maybe the upstairs rooms are better. There was lots of noise from the neighbors and water pipes, and the bathroom looked unfinished. It's an okay place to spend a night while passing through, but overall I didn't like it. I'm not fussy.

For this price, you can get much better accommodation in town. As a female tourist, I wouldn't recommend this place. Getting downtown is inconvenient, the Wi-Fi is very unreliable, and hot water is limited. It's a bit unclean and hasn't been updated. There was a lot of noise from guests or tenants, the employees didn't speak English, and my guest privacy was violated. In my opinion, this isn't a hotel at all, more like housing for tenants.

There was a cockroach on the bedside table, and I took photos. The room was cold, the bathroom smelled awful, and the towels smelled bad too. Wi-Fi was poor. At check-in, the staff member insisted we pay in cash when we wanted to use a card, and didn't even know how much to charge. I also messaged them through Booking and got no reply. Definitely not recommended!

Even after agreeing with the owner, you may arrive and be turned away because he hasn't checked whether a room is available. This can happen in the middle of the night. Don't take the owner's word for it.
