The food was the one part that didn't quite meet the hotel's otherwise high standard. Breakfast was disappointing on both visits. At 6:30 the first morning, we told the staff we had only 15 minutes, but they seemed unprepared and offered just yogurt. The second time, we had pre-ordered a hot breakfast for 6:30, yet the poached eggs arrived cold at 6:45. We were rushing and didn't even get to take the pastries. Dinner from the set menu was decent, including cabbage with pistachios, trout with sweet potato purée, and Pavlova, but the price felt average for the quality. The rest of the stay left a very positive impression. It's a beautiful, expensive hotel where we felt comfortable, with an excellent location and everything walkable. Transport was easy, staff were helpful, and arranging a pick-up point for sightseeing was straightforward. They checked us in early, and we liked the room, especially its beautiful bathroom and window view. Complimentary still and sparkling water, a capsule coffee machine, a Dyson hairdryer, and high-quality toiletries were nice touches. The hotel seems more geared toward business travelers than tourists, particularly at breakfast.

The hotel has a homey feel since it's smaller than many others in the city. Our suite was beautiful, with a lovely bathroom and closet. The front desk service was outstanding, and the bar staff were nice too. The Portuguese chef is great. Our stay was absolute perfection.

We went caroling at Corinthia this Thursday with a small group of special children. We weren't performing for show or charity, just hoping to share a human connection, carrying songs, joy, and courage. At the entrance to this renowned five-star hotel in Bucharest, we were politely turned away, not for being disruptive, but because groups like ours apparently aren't welcome at a five-star hotel. Discrimination can be hidden behind rules, prestige, and “standards,” rather than expressed harshly. Inequity can whisper, and dehumanization can start with simply refusing to see the person in front of you. Human dignity can't be measured in stars. Compassion doesn't lower standards, it defines them. The children were five stars that Thursday, and always will be.

This is about the restaurant and common areas during the 2025-2026 New Year's Eve party. It may not affect you if you're staying at the hotel or going for brunch. The building is new and beautifully decorated, with the attention to detail you'd expect from a five-star place. The party itself was well put together, the food was perfect, and the music suited a Romanian experience. I would have preferred to skip the wedding-style songs after midnight, but that's a local flavor you might expect. The problem was what happened after midnight. At a table occupied by a “Romanian public figure,” people began smoking cigars inside the restaurant. The old building isn't properly ventilated for that kind of heavy smoke. I told the main waiter it wasn't acceptable, especially with small children at the event. He spoke with the people, but more guests started smoking, growing from one smoker to three. We even ended up with pieces of meat on our table. At the end, staff tried to serve us an extra dessert but said there was no spoon and we'd have to eat it with our hands. That was unwelcome, to say the least. It seemed like their five-star way of excusing their inability to manage the situation. We expected a high-standard event and instead felt we'd attended a private party for a questionable group of people. Looking at earlier reviews, it seems this behavior had been reported before and management accepts it. That's why I gave one star instead of the two or three I had first considered. I'd strongly recommend avoiding major events here, such as Christmas, New Year's Eve, or Easter parties, unless you're willing to put up with heavy smoking and staff not enforcing basic decency in the restaurant.
