Monte Carlo Palace Suites is an apartment hotel, not a hostel. Each apartment has one or more private bathrooms; our two bed apartment had three. Monte Carlo Palace Rooms, on the other hand, is the hostel, with shared bathrooms. Make sure you check which one you're booking, and don't mix them up in reviews.

I was extremely disappointed with this booking. Although it's listed as a 4 star hotel, it's actually an apartment building renting out basement rooms. Four rooms share a section, with shared male and female bathrooms across from them. It felt like a glorified hostel, and it's not close to downtown, so you need a bus or cab to get there.

The train is nearby, which means it's noisy, though the value for money is excellent. On two of our four mornings, a neighbor argued early for about 15/20 min, shouting continuously with no answer. Maybe there's some ritual in those places?

The price was awfully high for what we got. The rooms and bathrooms smelled of bleach and cheap detergent, and we had trouble reaching a manager to complain. It was advertised as a hotel, but it's actually a hostel with shared bathrooms. I don't recommend this location.

There are shared toilets and bathrooms on every floor, and it was clean. A fridge and TV are in the room, and parking is free. Markets and restaurants are within 1.5 km.
