Hotel Sir Lujerului

Alexandru at reception made a real difference during my stay. He was welcoming, attentive, and very professional. The hotel itself is clean and modern, with comfortable rooms that feel like good value for the price. Its location right by the metro and shops made getting around Bucharest easy. For a two star property, it offers more than I expected. The location, cleanliness, and helpful service made it a very good choice for me.

I wouldn't recommend staying here. Renovation work was going on in the corridor beside my room from 8:00 a.m., and the staff hadn't told me when I booked. The noise was loud enough that I couldn't sleep, and it was very uncomfortable to spend time in the room. If I'd known about the planned work, I wouldn't have made a reservation.

I stayed in room 208. The furniture is basic but elegant, with pleasant colors, and the room was spotless. It had what I needed: a fridge, clean glasses, disposable napkins, TV, hair dryer, laundry bag, shoe brush, and sewing kit. The staff switched on the air conditioning in time for me to come back to a comfortable temperature on a scorching hot day. Even though the room faced the boulevard, the windows kept the outside noise from disturbing me. Check-in was quick, and the reception staff were friendly and made me feel welcome. The location is ideal, with a pastry shop, hairdresser, bank, taxi, currency exchange, clothes, and jewelry all under a two-minute walk. This won't win any “Hotel of the Year” awards, but if you're after clean, safe, affordable accommodation near the center of Bucharest, it's a good fit. You don't have to be some prince from the Orient.

Simple, clean, and affordable, with a bit of class for a two star hotel. The one downside is that you can't get laundry done here. For that, go to the laundry center at the main train station.
