Casa De Sub Munte

I barely slept the first night because groups in the inner courtyard got drunk and noisy. They seemed to act as if paying for one night meant the place belonged to them. I had read reviews saying the owner is strict about keeping things quiet, and he came across to me as an honest, trustworthy person, so maybe this was an exception. Still, I can only speak to what happened during my stay. The balcony was huge, though it faced that courtyard. The forest view was lovely, and hearing the river was a nice extra. The bed is soft, something to keep in mind if you have back problems. I also think having a grill is a mistake. Some people come to the mountains to relax, not to get drunk and hear manele at a barbecue, and it’s pretty clear who loses out in that conflict.

A good base for skiing, and the location is a real plus. The hosts were nice too.

The rooms were fine and clean, and the place is near the slope, though getting there from the center means quite a climb. The host’s communication was poor: he didn’t answer calls or WhatsApp messages, even after I tried dozens of times. It’s a shame because the place has potential, but the owners treat customers superficially.
