I’m reviewing the restaurant, not the hotel. It’s a nice spot with a great view over the Danube. The menu is limited but covers the essentials, and the fish seemed fresh. I also tried a dessert and liked it. Drinks seemed a little pricey, though I guess getting them there costs more.

The hotel is closest to the ferry, which was useful. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was fine, but the rooms and corridors smelled as if someone had smoked, even though smoking was prohibited. The TV was a little small, and the corridors were very hot. Breakfast was poor: the toaster didn’t work, and the ventilated display for the meat and cheese wasn’t even plugged in. Cereal was the only decent thing to eat. The meat was low quality and might make you ill.

This is only about the restaurant, and I wouldn’t recommend eating here. They served us raw chicken, then brought more after we complained, and that was raw too. The garlic sour cream dip we ordered was basically water with garlic. After that, the waitress stopped coming to our table, even though we called her several times. A horrible experience!

The staff were very friendly and spoke English, and we enjoyed the place. The open-air restaurant on the Danube shore is beautiful, with a fantastic view, though it closes at 22:00. The rooms are modest but very clean, and the bed was comfortable.

The hotel is near the Romanian-Bulgarian border and the ferry line. It’s quiet, the view is nice, and the service is acceptable. The road to the hotel is wonderful.
