The view is great, and that's about it. For what it costs, I left feeling the place wasn't worth the money, and it gave me that familiar feeling of being cheated in Romania. The road was nearly collapsed, and I'm not sure my 4x4 Cayenne could make it a second time, despite the luxury look in the booking photos. We had breakfast, but couldn't stay for lunch because they had a wedding, so we were out of luck. We'd booked a Jacuzzi room, but the Jacuzzi didn't work. There was no hot water for a shower at 10 pm either. I ordered green tea at the restaurant and it never came. I forgot to remind the waitress, and she forgot too. At the bar, I waited about 15 minutes and nobody came to take my order. Aside from the view, everything was average at best.

I don't usually write reviews, but the price and experience here made me want to. We came hungry after a chaotic drive along a poorly marked road, then heard the food would take 40-50 minutes. I could have stayed home if I wanted to pay top dollar to be hungry and ignored. We'd specifically booked outdoor seating, but were squeezed inside as if we'd been an afterthought. It was so tight that the guy behind me had to move to another part of his table so I could sit down. The drinks list offered five options, but only cold mineral water was available. The food choices were limited too, and nobody warned us. This place had potential, but I came for a meal and basic hospitality, not just a nice vibe. Neither showed up. Do better.

We found it easy to unwind at Gradinile Romane, tucked beside a beautiful lake. Our roomy quarters had breathtaking lake views, giving the place a calm, peaceful feel. The grounds and lovely garden were well maintained. Staff were friendly and ready to help, with good suggestions for nearby sights, including monasteries and natural landmarks. A memorable retreat if you're hoping to get away from everyday life.

The lake views were stunning, and the rooms were spacious, clean, and thoughtfully decorated. We slept well in the comfortable beds, and the amenities were top-notch. Staff were very friendly and attentive. I had a delightful stay from beginning to end, and would wholeheartedly recommend it for a peaceful break surrounded by natural beauty. I can't wait to return and enjoy the serenity by the lake again.
