Deja Vu Pension

The staff were polite, but the hotel said it hadn’t received my payment even though I had confirmation from the bank. I was asked to pay again. Later, when it turned out the first amount had been transferred, I was told I had to be charged to get a refund! The mini bar was empty, something I wouldn’t expect in a hotel rated 5*, and the bathroom was mediocre. The exterior and entrance had the characteristic traditional décor advertised on their webpage, but the bedrooms mixed old and modern furniture in a way that left a bad impression. I was misled by the 5* review on their site. At best, this place deserves 2*.

I booked one night through booking.com and don’t regret it at all. Cetatuie hill, the highest part of Cluj city, was nearby, with a great view and restaurants. The host was friendly and helpful. Excellent experience, 100% recommend.

A lovely, fairytale-like B&B in a quiet neighbourhood we wanted to explore. The hosts were welcoming, and there were antiques I felt like taking photos of. You can tell people really want to make your stay comfortable.

The rooms were small, with old furniture and poor amenities. Cleanliness wasn’t something to write home about either. The staff could use some hospitality training.
