We’ve used this place a few times as a quick overnight before a flight, and it’s worked well each time. A taxi to the airport takes about 10 minutes without traffic and costs 40 lei, around £7. The twin room is roughly £35. Rooms are simple but very clean, with good beds and linen, a TV, fridge and coffee making stuff. There’s a shared kitchen too if you need it. No complaints from us, we’ll be back.

I wouldn’t recommend staying here. When we returned in February to check on a November 2017 booking, we found the rooms hadn’t been reserved, even though we’d been quoted 100 Ron a night over the phone. The owner came to reception and was very rude, as if the problem was our fault, and said prices had gone up in 2018. On an earlier overnight stay in September, the receptionist was also quite rude and smoked while we waited to check in.

There’s Wi-Fi and Romanian TV, and breakfast is available, though it’s just packaged food that you serve yourself. The furniture is very basic. The main problem is the thin walls: you hear nearly everything from the rooms beside you, and if those guests are noisy, sleep is out of the question. Fine for a short stay of 2-3 days if you’re not expecting much.

The staff were considerate, and there are a few parking spaces along the street. The room itself was nice, though its walls were quite thin and a bit dirty.

A handy low cost choice for a short stay in Cluj. The rooms are clean and recently renovated, with a fridge and air conditioning. It’s four bus stops from the city centre, and the bus station is nearby. There was some noise, since the street runs right in front of the windows.
