The Spot Cosy Hostel

The common room is great, the beds are nice, the dogs are fun, and the staff are incredibly helpful. This is easily one of the best hostels I've stayed in. On my last night I accidentally wandered into drinks with the staff and their friends during a private party. They invited me to join instead of asking me to leave, which was really kind. I wish I could have stayed longer, but my travels took me elsewhere. If I ever return to Cluj, I know where I'll stay. If you're unsure, just book it.

I had a good stay, and the hostel has a nice common room and a big backyard where it's easy to meet people. The staff seemed a little grumpy and could have been friendlier. More staff would help, since reception was often unattended. There also weren't enough power outlets in the dorm, fewer than one per person.

The rooms are bright, and the kitchen is fully equipped. It's a comfortable, warm and cosy boutique-style hostel for a few nights, with friendly staff, courtyard parking, and privacy curtains on the upper dorm beds. Walking to the city center takes about 15 minutes. It could use a thorough dusting and a spruce-up. Some of the improvised, amateurish finishing and decorative touches are also a bit much.

I stayed at Spot Cosy Hostel during the Transylvania International Film Festival and enjoyed it a lot. I had to fit some work around my trip, and it was a good place to stay, socialize, and get work done. The rooms were quiet and clean, breakfast was free, and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
