The place itself is quite beautiful, which makes the way we were treated all the more disappointing. We paid for 8 rooms for one night and 5 for two nights, and were unhappy about paying more than 70% in advance. When I asked for a service contract, they acted as if they didn’t know what I meant. The breakfast had initially been included in what we were told, though none of it was written down, but we were charged for it at the end even though we’d paid the room rate shown with breakfast included. That refusal to put things in a contract was confirmed by what happened. The manager hung up on me, and the chambermaids spoke authoritatively and told us to leave our room before checkout time. The waiters were also disrespectful. This felt like a typical Romanian tourism business with no respect for its customers. I can’t recommend it at all. People running places like this need to understand that they should treat customers with respect.

It works for a night’s rest while you’re travelling, but I wouldn’t choose it for a longer holiday. The national road nearby gets very noisy. The rooms were spacious and very clean, with a big bed. But there was no air conditioning, so it got too hot in summer, the shower cabin leaked, and the thin walls let through all the noise. Food arrived quickly, and the beers even quicker. The waiter missed that we wanted to order, then charged us for an extra beer, so we didn’t tip. A woman at the counter was annoyed that we came into the building in our work clothes.

Such a lovely atmosphere, with really friendly staff and great food.

There’s a big garden, a tennis court, and a restaurant at this really nice guest house. It’s close to the street, but still a pleasant spot for a relaxing weekend. Our room was clean and nice, and they provided free toiletries. We had dinner and breakfast there. The food was quite OK, though not amazing. I’d recommend staying here, and I’ll come back.
