Lira Pacific Aparthotel

I thought I might have just been unlucky after reading the other reviews, but then I saw the other rooms too. It’s hard to see how this place gets such good ratings, or how it reaches even two stars. The furniture looked about 20 years old, the mattresses were so hard they gave me back pain, and the old TVs were LCDs. The linens hadn't been changed, and cleaning only happened after I asked. I didn't try the restaurant.

At Lira Pacific the breakfast is very good, the restaurant is pleasant, and food prices are good. They also make the best coffee in the city. It feels safe, parking is free, and the rooms are lovely and very clean. There’s a small kitchen if you want to make something inexpensive. Near Mircea cel Batran Marin Institute, it’s a great spot for a holiday in Constanta.

The breakfast has a good range, with Romanian, German, English, or French options, and the coffee is good too. The location worked well for us, about a 10-15 minute ride to the center or beach. Bolt is popular if you don't have a car. We got a large, clean room with a kitchenette and a little balcony, and it was good value for the money. The double bed was pretty small, and badly needs a new mattress. If you're over 1.80m tall, your toes might not fit.

The hotel is quite far from the beach, but minibus 305 stops nearby and takes you to Mamaia in about 20 minutes for very little. Bus 44 is around a 10-minute walk away and goes to the Old City Centre. The rooms were spacious and clean, with nice furniture, and breakfast was very nice. Service was great and the staff were friendly. A few things could be better: the AC wasn't fully working during my stay, the cold neon lighting in the rooms could be warmer, and the devices in the room should all work properly, including the radio in the shower. Still, nothing made me regret choosing this hotel, and I'd recommend it.
