The garden is lovely, parking is available, and the beach is 100m away. The room was very clean and they take hygiene seriously. Everything about the place felt gorgeous, and everyone was there to help. Mr George, the manager, is a kind person. He welcomed the refugees family and helped them without any issues. Lulu was great with technical problems, and Elena, the service manager, has such a lovely personality. Violeta was the most supportive of all. I'd recommend the hotel, they can make your vacation better.

Ants were all over the place: on the room floor and windowsills, in the bathroom, on the walls, in the shower, and even on the towels. The shower water was ice cold, and reception did nothing when I reported it. The AC didn't work, so the heat made it hard to sleep. The lights flickered like they were about to fail. The sheets and pillows were dirty, with hair on them. Even the glass cups, packed in a bag marked “sterilised,” were filthy. There was an awful mold smell as soon as I entered, and the wardrobe handles were broken. Even though the nightly rate is cheaper than other hotels, it isn't worth the money. The worst hotel experience.

The old town is a 10 lei taxi ride, about £2. One “private hire” guy tried to charge me 50 lei for the lift, so watch out. Keep your wits about you and do a bit of homework on Romania, and you should have a good time. Hotel Jolie is now the London hotel. It's been refurbished and looks clean and modern. The toilet and shower are up to a good standard, the bed is comfortable, and the WiFi works well. The front desk staff are helpful, polite, and presentable.

The nearest beach is a 10-minute walk away, which was the good part. The hotel itself is out in a suburb, far from restaurants and pubs. Our double room was really small, with old furniture and nowhere at all to hang towels. You can hear everything through the walls, so it's no good if you sleep lightly. We stayed one night and agreed it wouldn't make our favorites list.
