Built in 1920, Hotel d'epoque used to stand as a symbol of Constanța alongside the Casino on the promenade. It’s now crumbling and no longer in use. What a shame.

The view and wifi were the only things I liked. I wouldn’t return, especially at the $80 peak season rate, when the next day was half that price. It felt like a total rip off. You can book online with a credit card, then arrive and be told they only take cash, apparently to avoid showing a profit. The gym might be decent if anyone bothered to plug in the machines, and there’s no lighting. The beds and TV are ancient, the main elevators show no sign of repairs, and the carpets look awful. A mess from beginning to end.

It’s in an amazing location, and the building itself is beautiful and full of history. Such a pity that it’s been neglected, with parts of the facade looking ready to fall off.
