Peninsula Boutique Hotel

The street outside was loud late into the night, with music from nearby restaurants still audible through the closed windows. Inside, we couldn’t get the room problems sorted either. The shower wouldn’t drain, so water spread into the room and onto the carpet. The swollen bathroom door wouldn’t shut properly, and the floors stayed wet enough that using the hairdryer felt unsafe. We asked to move, but staff said the system wasn’t working, and all they left was rolled-up towels in the shower. The safe also didn’t work, and none of the issues were fixed, despite us reporting them several times. On the second night, the power went out in the rooms. The air conditioning stopped, and the room became stuffy. We couldn’t open the window because the seagulls kept squawking and us awake. The technician never arrived in the morning, though the reception still had electricity. It was hard to see this as a boutique hotel from the start. A crowd of teenagers greeted us at night, including the receptionist, who was in a stretched tank top and flip-flops. We wondered if we’d come to the wrong place. She wasn’t friendly, and we had to ask how to find our room, which floor it was on, and when breakfast was. The service was poor, and we couldn’t properly use what we’d paid for. Staff didn’t seem interested in helping or accommodating us. Nobody apologized or offered compensation.
