Casa Eden

Our puppy loved the garden, and the hosts were thoughtful about making things easy for him. They put us in a ground-floor room near the exit so we could get outside quickly. We arrived at 9 AM even though check-in was at 2 PM, and the room was already available at no extra charge. It was clean, modern, and nicely styled. The garden felt like a little piece of heaven, and there was plenty to keep guests occupied, including a bookcase, board games, and a fridge stocked with cold drinks at reasonable prices. The hosts had clearly thought about how to make tourists feel welcome. We came because people recommended it as a lovely place that welcomes pets, and had a great time with our eight-month-old Golden Retriever and my Dutch boyfriend. The food was delicious, and afterwards I had a good conversation with the kitchen staff member about breakfast service. The current setup is a small window facing the kitchen: you give your room number and are supposed to wait for your room's turn. But that order wasn't followed. Some people, mostly annoyed men, stood blocking the window and kept asking when the food for their room was ready, then got served first. The staff member and I agreed that the process needs work, perhaps with tickets and a waiting period so people can take turns without frustration or intimidation. I appreciated their professionalism, honesty, and openness to improving it. The area around the property, including the nearby beach, was very dirty, with garbage everywhere. We had to keep our puppy from eating anything harmful off the ground.

The staff were helpful and really nice, and breakfast was a well-balanced meal in a little box. The sea view is amazing, with a spectacular bench just outside the property. It's quite remote, so loud tourists and cars won't bother you. The room felt a bit old, though, and the balcony hadn't been cleaned properly. The good sheets and pillows made up for that. I'd recommend it.

The courtyard is beautiful, the staff are friendly, and breakfast was filling and included. You can see the Black Sea from the balcony or reach a nice view with a two-minute walk. We were able to get rooms at short notice for a reasonable price during our two-night visit with Romanian family members. I'm visiting from the USA. There isn't immediate beach access: getting to a beach meant a 15-minute drive through traffic or over bad roads. Parking was ugly and rough, perhaps on neighboring property, another common Romanian problem. Construction felt cheap, and the luxury details quickly lost their appeal because of planning, materials, or maintenance issues. The slow shower drain, half a roll of toilet paper, toilet that needed a good shake to fill, and barely comfortable mattress added to that. These are the same prevalent Romanian issues, so the place doesn't set itself apart.

The staff were friendly and polite, and the rooms very clean. There's a nice garden to relax in, and it's 100 meters from the beach. Pets are welcome here, all of them. The food is great, with a different menu every day, so you don't need to eat out. I'll be back every year.
