Vox Maris Grand Resort - Adults only

At 500 Euros a night, I expected far better. The buildings were crumbling, the rooms had old furniture, and the bathroom was especially disappointing. The dirty, poorly designed bathtub splashed water everywhere, and the hair dryer never worked. Service was poor too. During our four-day stay, nobody cleaned the room. They changed our towels once, and we had to buy toilet paper ourselves because the one roll provided for four people wasn't enough. Knowing what the hotel was really like, I wouldn't have booked it. I wouldn't stay a second time.

We booked several rooms at Vox Maris Costinesti for a festival, but it was also a work trip, so I called a day beforehand to ask about internet. The receptionist said their DIGI connection was fast. Once we arrived, we found the WiFi didn't even work in reception and couldn't be detected in the rooms. Mobile 4G was poor too, with no 5G coverage. When I asked how soon it would be fixed, the same receptionist said the outage was temporary and would be resolved the next day. It never was during our three-night stay. The rooms weren't cleaned. Several colleagues asked to move, and in my room they hadn't even emptied the bin. Reception staff were unprofessional, raising their voices at each other in front of guests and being impolite. Breakfast was served for only one hour, from 8:00-9:00. One colleague got sick after eating it, so I'd avoid it. Although the website listed check-in as starting at 18:00, we arrived after 19:00 and waited 30-40 minutes for a key. Other guests who'd arrived earlier were also waiting on a list. The price was far too high for the service and accommodation.

We came for a festival and were extremely disappointed. The room they first gave us smelled horrible and had mold by the head of the bed, with mosquitoes, bugs, and spiders all over. We paid a lot for what the place offered, and it looked nothing like the pictures. Other people were complaining about the same things too. I wouldn't recommend staying here, especially with kids.

Most of the staff were surprisingly kind and polite, though the owner or manager was a clear exception when we raised complaints. We stayed at the end of June and beginning of July, when the place still looked like a work yard. It was expensive for what it offered, and there were safety hazards: exposed electric wires by the pool, sharp unfinished edges, and holes in the ground. The rooms had unhealthy humidity, the restaurant wasn't open for a la carte dining, and despite what they claimed, there was no internet in the rooms. This definitely wasn't the four-star resort advertised on the site. Maybe in a couple of years the place could reach its full potential.
