We spent a long weekend here in October 2025 and got lucky with sunny, clear weather. The relaxed atmosphere made it easy to unwind, and the estate has been renovated with a lot of care and attention to detail. Gladys, the Countess and Co-Founder/Owner, personally checked in with guests to see that everything was running smoothly and that we were well looked after. Sandor was especially attentive, and all the staff were welcoming. The food was a real highlight: locally sourced, carefully prepared, with a varied menu that changed each night. Breakfast had a decent range, though not every option you might want. We also visited Bethlen Castle next door and Sighisoara, about a 15-minute drive away. Truffle hunting was another option, but we didn't get to it this time and plan to explore it on our next trip. I'd highly recommend the place for a quiet weekend away or even a week to reset. Thanks to the Bethlen Estates team for a wonderful stay!

I was disappointed by the experience. The property markets itself extraordinarily well, but the quality of the place and the service fell far short of the image it tries to create, especially given how expensive it is. The good wine list and the very nice service from Sandor and Pety were the only things I found worthwhile, unfortunately.

What a vision. Bethlen Estates Transylvania sits in a quaint Transylvanian village, surrounded by a stunning natural setting and cultural heritage that's wonderful to discover. It's a lovely place to rest, unwind, and indulge. The people, food, and wine were all great. Hard to wish for much more.

The food alone made a lasting impression, a real delight for the palate, and I'd call it a must-try. Our stay at Bethlen Estates Transylvania felt dreamlike, with idyllic countryside, comfortable and lovely rooms, and such care in the details that the whole guest experience was elevated. I'm already looking forward to returning for quiet days with books in the coziest corners of the houses, then one of those spectacular dinners.

Meals here were full of surprises, delicious and each with a story behind it. You get the flavours, traditions, and the chef's creativity, not just a meal. Breakfast was a dream. Bethlen Estates is a wonderfully peaceful escape in the heart of Transylvania. The accommodation feels elegant without being showy, and its design brings history together with modern comfort. Every detail feels considered, with good taste and none of it over the top. You can sense the care in the restoration. It's the sort of place that makes you slow down, breathe, and enjoy the moment. I'm already dreaming of coming back!
