Posada Curtea de Arges

The location is really convenient, with lots of restaurants nearby. What I liked most was the breakfast and the staff, who were super friendly.

The newer rooms are really nicely furnished, and they were spotless. The hotel is being upgraded from 3* to 4*, and those rooms feel like a good step up. It's in a handy spot on the town's main street, with good restaurants and the Monasterey just a short walk away. Breakfast had very little choice, though, and there weren't even tea or coffee facilities in the room.

I paid 33 Euro for a night, without breakfast, and this is probably only suitable if you just need somewhere to crash. The room was very warm for my taste, though it had AC and a TV that I didn't try. I did use the bath. At 184 cm, I could only fit my legs in the small tub, and it sat high above the floor, so getting in and out felt risky. When I drained it, water poured through the floor drain until it had nearly covered the bathroom floor. It only went down once the tub had emptied. The taps also needed replacing, and I didn't find the bed comfortable. The whole lobby was being rebuilt while I was there.

These days we drop by the Posada Restaurant now and then. The food is good and the service is always quick, and there's a lovely garden out front with swing benches. We had our wedding here nine years ago, when the place had just been redecorated.
