Hotel El Stefanino

The view was decent, the music was nice, and the food tasted good. Service was just okay, and prices were much too high, with draft beer running 10-14 lei a pint. We didn't have a bad time, but I imagine the place could really trip itself up when it's full. A few meters away there's a nice hotel-restaurant called Carmen, with better service, good food, and much cheaper prices.

Jazz playing in the background made the place feel really relaxing. The food was delicious too: I had a Fajita and my boyfriend ordered a Pollo supremo, and we both loved the taste. Prices seemed normal, with most meat dishes and a side around 40-45 lei. There's a big variety. I'd definitely recommend it.

The fries were frozen, and they were the only edible thing on our plates. After waiting 15 minutes for a to-go box, a staff member literally threw it onto the table, violently. The food was bad fast food at expensive restaurant prices, service was slow, and the staff were extremely rude. It ruined an evening we can't get back.

The location looks nice, which is why we thought we'd stop for lunch on the way back from the beach to our hotel. We won't eat there again and can't recommend it. The food was overpriced for what it was, including 72 RON for two basic Greek Salads. In a restaurant with 20-30 tables, only four were occupied, yet we waited 15 minutes for the check after asking twice. They said we had to pay cash because the restaurant had no card option. We understood that registered businesses in Romania are required to offer card payment. They sent my partner to pay at the hotel's reception, where staff then asked to take a photo of my partner's card to "create a bill." My partner refused, and the staff tried to apologize once they realized how inappropriate the request was. It was horrible service and expensive food. We should have checked the reviews first.
