Hotel Union

The food was average at best, and the prices felt far too high for the quality and service. We had dinner there with my husband, and the waiter brought two portions by mistake. He insisted we accept them because that's what he'd written down. We didn't feel like arguing, so we agreed and asked for the extra one to be packed up. At the end, they brought us a container and left us to box it ourselves.

The two elevators have an outside view, and the hotel interior looked nice. Check-in was quick too. We had the cheapest room, which honestly wasn't cheap for what the service offered, though it did include deck chairs, breakfast, and parking. Breakfast didn't have much variety, and parking depended on finding a free spot. Sleep was the biggest problem. Our room faced the back yard, where some kind of engine or air conditioning made a lot of noise all night. I usually sleep fine, but struggled that night. The room felt small for the price, and there were little gaps between the bathroom tiles that should be filled to stop things getting in. Fortunately, we didn't see anything there. The staff also seemed rushed and not especially kind. I was busy with my child and asked the waitress to take the rest of our table's order first, then come back to me. She got annoyed, said she had to take the whole order at once, and walked away before returning later. Strange, but I guess those are the house rules.

The location is great, but there's little regard for guests' sleep. Loud live music goes on every day until 23.00-24.00, and they clean the terrace with a very noisy machine at 3am. The food they serve is cheap.

This is just about the restaurant. I don't know the hotel, have never stayed there, and never will. The food was so bad that I joked a monkey in the kitchen would have a better chance of making something decent. Service was still pretty quick, but the prices are far too high for the quality they offer.
