Pensiunea La Matraguna

The beach is about a 15-minute walk from the house at a child's pace. You reach the sea through wild forest, and the beach itself is just sand, with very few shells and stones and no loungers or umbrellas. It may be Romania's last wild beach, though experts can correct me if I'm wrong. There were only ten people within 100 meters of us. I’d never experienced such quiet on a Romanian beach; at first it even felt too oppressive. Mostly there were just waves and seagulls, with a plane or helicopter now and then because there’s an airport in Tuzla. Phone reception at the beach was practically nonexistent, almost as if it were jammed. The guesthouse is newly opened and was built with European funds. It has four bedrooms, each with a bathroom and air conditioning, plus a fully equipped kitchen. I even baked fish in the oven. The yard is quite large, with a barbecue, swings, hammocks, and, most strikingly, an apricot orchard. The house has such pleasant energy. I slept really well, even at noon, enjoyed a beautiful sunset, and felt quiet inside. It works for families with children as well as groups, garden parties, retreats, and similar stays. Without a car, you can take the train to Tuzla and walk about 1 km from the station. There’s a Lidl in the village where you can buy food to cook at the guesthouse. I’ll return to Tuzla whenever I can, and recommend this different, unique experience. P.S. Make sure you get up one morning to see the sunrise.

It’s very clean and well cared for, with fresh air that smells of roses and an orchard said to hide a secret from the Second World War. La Matraguna Guesthouse is a wonderful place to relax near the intimate beach in Tuzla, known only to locals.

The landscape was wonderful, and the accommodation conditions were very good.
