Cristian and his father welcomed me warmly, and when my motorcycle wouldn’t start, they really came through. Cristian found a mechanic and drove me to several different shops. I can’t remember the mechanic’s name, but he fixed the electrical fault and I was able to get home. I won’t forget how kind and welcoming they were. I was there for two days to see the city and castle. The villa is over 125 years old and has been beautifully restored. The rooms have character and were perfectly clean. There’s a little kitchen and living room that worked well for making a simple lunch, plus a refrigerator for storing food. It’s very motorcycle-friendly, and self check-in and parking in the yard were trouble-free. Water pressure was lower during the day. Cristian’s father said that was normal and down to the city, so there wasn’t anything they could do about it. Cristian had put together a guide to interesting places near the city. Ask for it if it isn’t in your room, since it points to lovely spots that aren’t on Google Maps. When I’m back in Romania, I’ll stay here again for a few days. There’s a secure parking area behind a gate, and a great barbecue fireplace in the garden. The owner speaks English. It’s an atmospheric, clean, well-kept place, furnished with old, lovely pieces.

Lots of natural light, cosy rooms, and beautiful furniture, with each room styled thoughtfully. The bathrooms are modern, and the kitchen has a microwave, kettle, stove, pots, pans, and more. The owner answered right away when I called for access, even though we hadn’t given notice. She was friendly and full of useful information. So happy here!

There’s a lovely yard with a barbecue area, and a good restaurant close by. The Castle is about a 15-minute walk away. Nice place to stay if you’re passing through Hunedoara.
