Hotel Ildis

There’s no breakfast, restaurant, or coffee setup downstairs, just a vending machine. I changed rooms three times because the air conditioning didn’t work in any of them, despite the promise of AC, clean rooms, and good service. When I complained, reception said they knew nothing because they only worked there and it wasn’t their hotel. They couldn’t fix it or help us. We stayed a few days ago, and this was the biggest dump I’ve ever been in. If I could give zero stars, I would. Avoid this place.

The place was quiet and very well situated in the city. Our twin room was clean, with AC, a shower, TV, balcony, and hair dryer. Breakfast is optional, though the restaurant is currently being renovated. The receptionist deserves five stars.

For the price, it was an okay stay. The rooms feel a little cramped because of all the furniture, and everyone shares the coffee station in a common area. Cleaning was so-so, but overall it was fine for what we paid.

The hotel itself was nice and clean, and there’s a nice Turkish restaurant just around the corner. But our room was freezing when we stayed for one night at the end of December. The receptionist seemed completely unsuited to the job, grumpy and wearing dirty clothes, like he’d just been digging in the garden. We won’t stay there again.
