The house was especially pleasant with its sauna, which I found very relaxing. It also has a spacious yard with a covered barbecue gazebo and dining area, a nice playground for kids, and a hot tub with generous lighting and hydromassage features. It seems great for families with children, though not only for them. Built through AFIR, it’s a SUPER SMART HOUSE combining renewable and traditional resources. I can’t judge the technical standard, but it provides all the comfort and is fully equipped. During our stay the weather shifted by almost 15 degrees: it was hot enough for a T-shirt on the first day, then snowing when we left on the fourth. The attic got much hotter than the ground floor, with a temperature difference of a few degrees. It wasn’t hard to manage “too much of a good thing” :), though less warm-hearted guests might want to know. I took very few photos because I was enjoying the fresh air and peace around us. The hosts were extremely welcoming and smiley. Highly recommend!

The owners are kind and helpful, and the house is comfortable with everything you need. It’s set in beautiful, peaceful surroundings. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay in the area, this is the best. I can only recommend it, and hope we’ll come back.

The yard is set up for both meals and downtime, with a playground, gazebo and tub, barbecue, fridge, sink, prep table, and loungers. The house is tucked into a quiet patch of forest beside the Icelandic horse riding stables. We stayed August 15-18, and the hosts greeted us with a basket of delicious donuts and suggestions for places to see nearby. There’s a roomy, well-equipped ground floor, plus a sauna; upstairs are four bedrooms, each with a private bathroom. They also have electric bikes available to rent if you want to explore the area by bike.

The hosts are such good people, and the place is wonderfully peaceful. We’ve rented houses in several places, but this one has been the best. If you’re after a good place to stay, come here.
