The big green yard was my favorite part, especially the barbecue area with its summer kitchen and gazebo. You can spend the whole day outside, and well into the night too. Inside, everything is practical and works well, with little decorative touches that give the place character. The hosts keep to themselves, the area is quiet, and the terrace, restaurant, and supermarket are a convenient distance away. It feels like a rare mix of old local character and modern comfort in Jurilovca. I’d happily come back each time.

The food was delicious, and the hosts and team gave our kids’ camp a lot of help and attention. They made the stay feel warm and easy, with a thoughtful personal touch. The accommodation itself was comfortable, clean, and nicely decorated, with all the facilities in place and plenty to do on site. We were really happy with it. Definitely recommend!

I ended up paying for a room at Casa Lotca after the host at Sailors House refused to cover the cost, and the conditions there weren't the same. This happened after I’d paid in full for a booking.com reservation made on 25.05.2025 for 07.06-09.06.2025. I tried calling the host on the evening of 06.06.2025 to confirm, but got no answer. Then, on 07.06.2025, about two hours before I arrived, he called to say the place had been rented to someone else and he’d found me another place. Once I got to Jurilovca, Casa Lotca was where I had to stay. Be very careful about how seriously the owner of Sailors Guest House Jurilovca handles reservations.

The shared kitchen has pretty much everything, from an electric oven, microwave and coffee maker to a kettle, citrus juicer, electric hob, dishes, sink, dish detergent and coffee. The hosts are pleasant and give you space, and the place was very clean, a 10 for cleanliness. There are cats and dogs around, so there’s no chance of getting bored. It was an interesting and lovely stay. The bathrooms are separate from the cottages, but each one has its own bathroom and key.

After weeks of searching and plenty of disappointments by the seaside, I finally had proper fish borscht. The fish was cooked really well, service was quick, and the prices felt fair. The storceagul is worth trying too. I’ve only had one that was a little better, at Pațaichin's restaurant in Tulcea.
