Marmara Apartments

The apartment had loads of room and was equipped with everything we needed. It was clean, modern, elegant, and really cosy. The host was very polite and arranged an earlier check-in for us. We left feeling that the stay had gone beyond what we expected. Highly recommend!

The rooms are large, but the stay didn't feel worth what we paid. The beach is a bit far away, there are too many construction sites nearby, and the whole area has sewage problems.

The soundproofing wasn't great, though I was lucky to have decent neighbors. The bathroom drain column was noisier. The road between the place and the beach is still being developed and has no streetlights at the moment. Parking is manageable for now, with about 8 marked spaces, but I can see it becoming a problem as more buildings go up. The area is still under development, with construction active on weekdays and apparently closed on weekends. On the plus side, the place was spotless, with new ergonomic furniture, and the host was friendly. You can walk to the beach without needing a car, while still being far enough from the music on the cliff. For Mamaia, the value was very good: 350l/n for the studio, or 630l/n for a two-bedroom apartment with a spacious living room. I didn't count any of the downsides as a minus in this review. I'd come back for that fifth star.

The apartments are tastefully done, clean, near the beach, and have four-star amenities, though there is no balcony. In this apartment, there was sometimes a mold and sewage smell, and shower water leaked out and pooled in front of the toilet. The Wi-Fi had stopped working after someone reset the router without setting it up again, so I had to use the login from another room. Someone else reported these same problems in 2020, and they seem limited to this apartment. What a shame!
