Sunrise-Sunset Studio Sea On

The rooms themselves were nice, though there wasn’t any toilet paper. The location may be nice once the construction is finished, but for now the walk to the beach goes through a building site. We booked two flats and paid a 200 RON deposit, which hadn’t been mentioned when we made the reservation. At check-in, they said it would be returned when we checked out. The reception was closed at 6 AM on our departure day, so I contacted them on WhatsApp about getting the money back. Instead of a refund, they blocked the same amount three times, leaving 600 RON unavailable in my account. They acted quickly and spoke to their bank, and I was told it could take up to three business days before the money became available again. They called to say it was an error and that they couldn’t send the money through PayPal because it was only blocked. Maybe it was only blocked, but I still couldn’t use it. Two transactions I hadn’t authorized were blocked instead of refunding the original amount, so I was left without 122 euros for three days.

The beach was filthy, with garbage, seaweed, and so many shells that I cut my feet. We had access to it, but I ended up driving to a cleaner, better beach each time. I could still enjoy the sea with my family there, but not at this property’s beach. My family and I booked through a travel agency, which promised a hot tub, daily room cleaning, and a private beach with two sunbeds included, all free. None of those services were provided. I expected the room to be cleaned at least once every two days, but nobody came. There was no toilet paper, dishwasher detergent, or laundry service either. A brochure in the room listed these facilities, but the room manager said it was outdated. So why had the travel agency and that supposedly outdated brochure both listed them? There were also problems with the room itself: a large crack ran between the bedroom and living room, and part of the wall beside the balcony door was unfinished, with its inside exposed. The balcony had lots of spiders, which I hate, and there was no bin for the rubbish we accumulated during our stay. The place was expensive for what little it provided, the beach was dirty, and the hotel, parking area, and surroundings were still under construction. I can’t say I was satisfied with this stay.

The rooms are lovely, and so is the staff. It’s a brand-new design and build right by the sea. One downside, the water, including cold water, ran out every night from around 6 to 8 PM. The main beach bars and clubs are about a 15-minute walk away.

I’m a child, but I can still tell they tried to make this place look perfect, and it doesn’t quite live up to that. There was a broken door handle, writing on one cupboard, and wires hanging down with nowhere to go, including an exposed wire in the bathroom. The bed shifts if you sit on it the wrong way. Apart from those things, the hotel is nice.
