Hotel Bueno

We only came to eat at the restaurant and didn’t stay at the hotel. We ordered pizza, carbonara pasta, and drinks. The food was okay, the prices were reasonable, and the waiter was nice to us.

The rooms were good quality and clean, and the staff were attentive and diligent. I also appreciated how the hotel handled the phone call and reservation before we arrived, and the facilities were good. When we checked in, the welcome was careful, though we were surprised to have to pay for the stay in advance. We were there for work, but an emergency meant we had to travel 500kmts to see a client and couldn’t sleep at the hotel on our final night. I asked for that night to be refunded. Staff said company policy didn’t allow it, but suggested I contact the person in charge the next day because of our personal and work circumstances. I called reception several times the next morning, but was told she was always in a meeting. One kind staff member gave me her mobile number and email. I reached her by phone, and she said she was in a meeting and would call within an hour. She didn’t, so I emailed her. Two hours later I called again. She said the rules didn’t allow a refund, but she’d do her best and get back to me when the meeting ended. I heard nothing from 10am until 11pm. At reception, I asked for a complaint form. They said they didn’t have one and handed me a blank piece of paper instead. After staff spoke with the person in charge, she asked to talk to me since I wasn’t standing by quietly about what I felt was an unfair and unprofessional situation. After 45 minutes on the phone, she said she was sorry but couldn’t refund me and would provide a claim form. They never gave it to me. They did offer a bottle of champagne, which I refused. The next day we had to leave at 3 o’clock in the morning for the work emergency. Our company regularly works in the Constanta area, but we won’t stay somewhere where the team leader doesn’t offer solutions when there’s a problem and doesn’t respond to clients’ calls or emails. I still haven’t heard back from the hotel manager, and I was refused a complaint form. I only wanted to cancel one night due to force majeure. The rules should be followed but also adapted to a client’s force majeure needs. Thanks to all the other staff.

It’s a decent option by the beach, though prices are spicy, like at all the hotels in Mamaia. The staff were friendly and helpful. One night the power in our room went out. They would have moved us if the problem hadn’t fixed itself.

Mr. waiter Hristu made us feel like special guests, five big stars for him. The room was standard and quite small, and while the location was really nice, concerts could be heard at night. Service was okay: towels were changed every day, but sheets only every three days. Ordering food on the beach could mean waiting over an hour, which was unpleasant. All in all, we had a pleasant stay. Thank you.
