Hotel Lotus

Spotlessly clean.

The staff at reception were very nice, but the state of our room made the three-night stay embarrassing. It smelled strongly of stale air, mold, and dust. That could be a serious health risk for someone with allergies, even though we were lucky not to have those problems or a child with us. There seemed to be too few cleaners for the number of rooms, and cleanliness was close to zero. Our cracked balcony had a plastic chair covered in what looked like long-settled cobwebs, and I found three different kinds of spiders behind it. When I asked for someone to mop the room to improve the air, they brought me a black, unusable mop to do it myself. The hotel has almost no facilities. I noticed a worn massage table, a seller offering overpriced juice and chips, and a coffee machine, all for a fee. The only other facility I saw was a parking lot beside the hotel, which seemed small for the number of guests, though I didn’t use it. I know the accommodation wasn’t expensive, but it wasn’t worth what I paid for these conditions. An embarrassing stay at a resort that offers very little for a lot of money.

The hotel’s location near the holiday village was okay, and we did have a balcony, but I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it. The balcony was in poor shape, with peeling walls and a dirty, badly worn plastic table and chairs. The room mixed modern and old furniture. There were no outlets by the bed, only ones high up near the ceiling where the TV and air conditioning were. The mattress was dirty, and towels had been left under the sheet on top of it. Some towels were torn, and they weren’t replaced. The sheets also went unchanged for a week, even after my boyfriend asked. Trash was taken out daily except for one day, but there was no other cleaning.

The room itself is fairly spacious, and the mini fridge was in good condition. For a 7-10 day stay, the choice of three room types, apartment, double, or matrimonial, is handy. The bathroom is small but modest, and the balcony is little, with two plastic chairs and a small plastic table. A few things let it down: the balcony was dirty with plaster, the TV remote didn’t work so the volume had to be changed on the side of the TV, and the air conditioner was out of order. The bathroom drain was very small too.
